Within walking distance of Daisy Cottage you can find an array of restaurants and bistros, many specialising in locally caught fish fresh from the harbour. No need to use your car as there are plenty of local transport options; a regular bus service, ferries to Torquay and Dartmouth, steam trains etc. Anglers and sailors are catered for around the harbour side and beaches, whilst others can choose to spend their time `crabbing` or swimming in the open air saltwater pool. Nearby Berry Head provides a haven for nature lovers with its colony of guillemots’, wild flowers and butterflies, alongside the remains of two 18th century Napoleonic forts.

For the younger adventurers, a short journey will bring you to Woodlands Family Theme Park, Paignton Zoo, National Marine Aquarium or the Living Coast. Castles can be found in Dartmouth and Totnes.

There are many outstanding coastal walks around Torbay and the surrounding areas. Dartmoor is home to spectacular scenery and wild ponies.
